Pro Tools and Sonic Solutions became standards on the Macintosh, while SAW, SADiE and Cool Edit became the most common on Windows. But at the end of the day, it's a little challenging for a novice podcast editor to come in and use Adobe Audition because there's just so many controls and effects and things that you're able to do with the product, it can get a little overwhelming. In the early 1990s, the infancy of digital audio editing software, there were a few favorites in the radio-production world. If you're familiar with Adobe products, you'll pick it up faster than others. What I like least about Adobe Audition is how challenging it can be to learn the software. Whenever a client tells me that there's a problem with their episode, there's a dog barking in the background, or there's this pesky cell phone ringing, I can use Adobe Audition to go in and remove those very specific sounds that other editors just can't handle. Logic Pro still has the nonsensical flaw around surround panning (which Apple may never solve), and it’s primarily a music platform which can be turned into a DAW. When you need to go in and work with the audio and try to remove some very specific background noises, I find Adobe Audition very helpful. If we compare with pro apps like Logic Pro, Pro Tools and the like, Audition still rates well. I use Adobe Audition to do podcast editing for my clients whenever the task that needs done is complex. I myself, having done radio imaging and production for years have now gone fully to Audition after using Pro Tools for several years. Most of us in the broadcast world have switched to Audition for both its workflow and integration with Premiere and After Effects. For more reviews like this, click down below. Audition is amazing for both dialogue and post production. I give Adobe Audition a four out of five. Cameron S.: Hi, I'm Cameron, and I'm a podcast editor.
